Life style-breast cancer

Most people focus on their body and health but forget that emotion is a big part in taking care of our selfs. The most important part of our healing prosses comes from inside. Emotions are what help us get through our jorney in life. To get through our toughest moments we need to feel strength inside to show it on the outside. Most people believe that beast cancer is caused by a negative emotion that comes from inside. So it is important to deal with our emotions in a normal health way. When your body is angry or tired you feel it and that emotion becomes strong. For exmaple if you believe you will do well on an exam and that emotion is strong there is a chance for sucuss. Just as if you had negitive feelings going into an exam that all you can do is fail, that emotion is so strong that it will take over and you will not do well. Emotions can be weak if you make them weak. Some people get really angry because they are pushing that emotion out which makes it strong. Deep breathing is known to prevent negitive emotions. Try to not have negitive emotions take a hold of you.

Treatment-http://health.yahoo.com/topic/breastcancer/treatment/article/healthwise/tv3673;_ylt=AgPvgO0.cExzavvRBvdnDMGU7M8F

Radiation therapy

Radiation therapy is the use of high-energy X-rays to destroy cancer cells and shrink tumors. It is used after breast-conserving surgery and sometimes after mastectomy, depending on how advanced your breast cancer is at the time of your surgery. You will usually have radiation treatments every day, 5 days each week, for about 6 weeks. Radiation therapy also may be combined with other treatments, such as chemotherapy or hormone therapy.

The most common way to give radiation therapy is called external beam radiation. This method of treatment exposes the skin on the chest and under the arm to a carefully focused beam of radiation. You will not be able to see the radiation, but your skin will look slightly sunburned in the treated area (called the radiation field). Small marks are tattooed onto the skin to help identify the radiation area.

Sometimes tiny radioactive pellets are placed in or near the tumor site. This is called brachytherapy, internal radiation, or interstitial radiation. Giving an extra boost of radiation near where the tumor was removed may help keep the breast cancer from returning to that area. Brachytherapy is often used with external beam radiation.

Radiation therapy can cause many side effects. Fatigue is common, especially toward the end of your treatment and for several weeks afterward. Balancing rest with activity is important; try to match your activities to your energy levels. Be patient; it may take you a few weeks to fully recover.

The skin on your breast and under your arm may become red, dry, tender, and itchy. Toward the end of treatment, the skin may become moist and “weepy.” These effects are temporary, and the area will gradually heal when treatment is completed. Expose the area to air as much as possible to help the skin heal. Some types of clothing may rub the skin and cause irritation, so you may want to wear loose-fitting cotton clothes. You may feel more comfortable if you do not wear a bra until your skin heals.

Complementary therapy

Complementary therapies, such as acupuncture, herbs, biofeedback, meditation, yoga, and vitamins, are sometimes used along with medical treatment. Some people feel that they benefit from some of these therapies.

Before you try a complementary therapy, talk to your doctor about the possible value and potential side effects. Let your doctor know if you are already using any such therapies.

Complementary therapies are not meant to take the place of standard medical treatment, but they may improve your quality of life and help you deal with the stress and side effects of cancer treatment.

Clinical trials

Other treatments for breast cancer are being tested in clinical trials. Ongoing trials may include:

  • “Partial breast” radiation procedures. Several methods are being tested that use radioactive implants (brachytherapy) and concentrated high-energy X-rays (limited field external radiation) for 1 to 5 days to replace the standard 4 to 6 weeks of traditional radiation therapy. The goal of these clinical trials is to keep the cancer from returning but reduce the side effects as much as possible.
  • The use of a medicine in a different way or the use of a new medicine, such as a biologic response modifier. A biological response modifier uses materials produced by your body or made in a lab to boost, direct, or restore your body’s natural defenses against breast cancer.

stress

A lot of people become stressed when things get to much in their lifes. Stress can cause breast cancer and other diseases. You have to respect your body when your body is telling you that its had too much, listen and dont over work. Stress can hurt not only you but other people around you. When you feel like you have too much work take a moment and breath in and out slowly you will become calm and grounded. Never forget that you are strong and that everything works out in the end. All you have to do is believe in your self. No one can help you intill you do. Try and spend less time stressing just breath in and out and believe you CAN do it. Be strong, never give up, and success will be yours.

The Unknown

John W NickAs I was searching the web I came a across a man with an unique story. John W. Nick went to the doctor because of concerns of an inverted nipple. One doctor told him not to worry and sent him home. Two years later John went back to another doctor, still the doctor found nothing to worry about. Not many men know about breast cancer beacuse Breast Cancer is related to woman.

John was not concidering his invert nipple was Breast Cancer. John knew for six years that something was wrong, but never got any answers. John began to get concered, he needed answers and was hoping that some one could help him. A doctor in New York listened to Johns concerns and decided he had Male Breast Cancer. John was immediatly summited for a mastectony.

He went though six months of chemotherapy and put on a drug for a year. It was to late for John because he went so long without any knowledge that he had Breast Cancer. The Cancer spread to his bones and sadly died in 1991. Because no one could give him an answer, his daughter has now started a campain to educate people on Male Breast Cancer.

I couldnt believe that people were dying because of not being educated. So this story was so powerful and I hope that his daughter and many more people get the information out in the world and we start saving people before it gets too late.

A path to better health

Breast cancer is everywhere and each one of us have been touched in some way, I know i have my aunt resceantly died from breast cancer which affected me because i wasnt aware how powerful it was. So i would like to get the word out, everyone knows what breast cancer is but not many people know how to help perfent or degrease the risks of further signs. I want to descuss the nutriution and health behind breast cancer. How we can work out and eat healthier also stoping the risks of breast cancer. I want to also talk about other forms of treatment such as yoga. Smoking is a big problem in our health but no one every considers that it can cause us to have breast cancer. Stress is a huge deal that is why yoga is most common for healing breast cancer. Also no one would think that not breast feeding your childeren would be a risk for breast cancer, well in most studies to breast feed your child will reduce signs of breast cancer. Even your deodarant can cause signs of breast cancer. These are some of the facts i will be sharing, to make everyone aware!
